Well I started the mower up tonight and still the same issues. It goes ok when its cold but as soon as you stop it and start it up again it coughs and splutters really badly and seems like its going to stall. The mower does start really easy.

A further issue that arose was sparks coming from the engine on the side of the carby. I checked the spark plug lead and it doesnt have any cracks.

All o rings have been done along with the bottom seal. Carby has been fully serviced with all new seals.

Id appreciate some help as Im out of ideas. I dont want to put it aside as its in really good condition.

Where exactly are these sparks coming from, near the lead would indicate a fault even if you cannot see a crack,

Well I reset the points after cleaning them up and the mower is finally running good. The spark is much stronger and now bright blue. The big test will come when mowing this weekend.

I ran it for about 15 mins at full throttle with no sputters or sparks from the carby side of the engine . Not sure why that happened bit confused about that.

Well its all fixed. Runs absolutely superb! Does anyone have any idea on the year model. An accurate adjustment of the points solved the final issue.[Linked Image]
