i have been studying the range of old victas for a few years now. and am still completely baffled at the array of different engine numbers which are supposed to correspond to each model. i lost track of how many times ive seen people tell someone there mower engine isnt correct because it should have such and such a number. all this information about the correct victa numbers must be coming from some where. is there a database of ID identification you can look up??
ive been told one thing and then had it rebuffed by someone else. its very confusing, so who is the official adjudicator on the subject. Bazz

Lols...Depends what models your refering to?...There is no one offical adjudicator...Most of the early models have been well documented and are common knowledge as they have been researched and documented over and over with accuracy. Many here are quite versed on various time periods of Victas and their correspondinng numbers. I can give you 98% accurate number sequence from model 2 Fan (Im Still Researching the model 1 Fan As not all were 132x And Im almost certain ive found when the numbers intersected with the model 2 fan via numbers and date coding...but we will see)right though to model 5 series 3,Also some variants and discrpencies of some of these models. Also A less conscise and accurate sequence for the rest of the model 5 range.
Unfortunately from model 6 sheerline on im blank,but a few members here are VERY knowledgable on the early to mid 60s right through to more recent mowers.

There are some lists that I believe were kept by Victa.I do have some copy's of these but they don't cover the early models as Blue is referring to.I don't have these files on computer currently.As I said the ones I have only cover a few models not all.More around the 1970's to 1980's,as blue said the earlier ones nothing has been found yet.That we all know of.

thanks guys. i guess when i finish adding to my collection i shall post all my engine numbers here on this site. then some of you in the know can shed some light on my confusion.
i have started stripping down some of my engines and although i have kept track of the corresponding numbers, it would be a terrible thing to lose that info and not know which engine came off of which mower. bazz
