Yes, I had actually taken the entire carby apart initially and blown all the passages (including idle jet)etc.. I had also checked and cleaned the pump mechanism and had not been able to improve the running at all.
And when you take into consideration that the machine is almost new and barely used I am really puzzled..
I would not have bothered with Ryobi, but because I was given all the 'Exopand-It' attachements with it that are worth a fair bit I decided to put a Walbro on it and keep it for long time! I hope it should run problem free for a while
