i have seen an amazing amount of 18's on here but cant seem to find one , picked one up last week and not a happy chappy ! siezed and a hole in the base but its differnt to ones i have see , no extentoions on the front for the flap rod . all i have now have them ? this one doesnt . a pity the base is holed but if need be it can be fixed . i looked closely and its not been modified as best i can tell , other things might have been but not the base ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/11/full-5264-8792-mowers_242.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/11/full-5264-8793-mowers_243.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/11/full-5264-8794-mowers_244.jpg) eng' no' i think is I or TAAD 28591 , N on the lower case . a few others too , and 2 boxes of parts , wheels , starters , a few carby's, plates nuts n bolts and a leaf guard or 2 . one has the round start handle ! got 'em from gumtree . happy so far but too hot to do much except clean a little and have a beer n think Dave

No extensions makes it a second series model 5, the first series had the extensions there as they were basically a model 4 base give or take a few details...

What you have a model 5 series 2. However I do believe it doesn't have the right engine. It has a series 3 or something similar to that, like maybe a model 8. The series 2 just had straight numbers not with letters.

thanks guys . so thats the only difference ? i can change one of the other bases to look right with some care , when i sort out the bits n pieces i'll let you know what's there , i know 2 engines arent siezed but one has the inlet port broken off ! both of these were left outside . water got in the snorkel's and its all over but havnt pulled them down as yet

I know that I would have a spare base. However it's still in storage,if you can wait till then I could send one over.

I wouldnt be a happy chappy either.Yes its a model 5 series 2.Predicta extensions deleted.Your enigne is definately an IAAD..... And is correct for the model 5 series, just of a later model as blumbly suggests.More likely a 3.Hope you didnt pay much. This version of the 5 is not very appealing to me personally, and holds no collector status.BUT each to their own,Im not here to bag out your choice of mower,It will restore nicely. If you are keen on the specials and want something a little rarer, lower nos or more iconic,go for the earlier models.Model 4 Predicta,STD,model 5 series 1 the first TRUE special nos should run from 110,00 to 128,000 Then around 200,000 to 300,000 for the true model 5. If the starter with the round knob has the lock nut on top.relist it on ebay and probably cover what you payed for the mower?.

locknut ? just a black rubber with an alloy top . and now yes i think i payed too much but its ok , one is close to alpine green so it will be different . and a clock sounds good too lmao . but its allgood as a lot of bits too , and the leaf guard cmpletes another and some spare wheels so nothing lost .. i gotta work out one day which is what with these 'ol beaut's

He is referring to the early starters which where on the model 4's and some of the early model 5's. You properly would have seen them. If you look at my post on my model 4 automatic you will see it on that mower. I don't mind the model 5's myself I have a few can't remember how many but a few. Even gave one to dad as he wanted something Light and reliable. I gave him a 70's utility first but he was happier with the model 5.

Yes You said you had a starter with the round knob,I assumed you meant the model 4/predicta Style You got heaps of spares too, thats a huge bonus then.Either way if your after all the variants then this is one less for your collection.I know your a long way but if I can ever help with parts let me know as I have quite a bit of stuff that will soon dwindle to make room for more Rotomos.

The First mower is a model 5 series 2 as is the first engine, both mid runs. The third is very unusual but ive heard of industrial and marine (Non Tiger Engines) Stamped Like This With no Victa.Hopefully another member may know more on the last as Im not entirely certain.A pic will help more,Could even be a model 1 engine,I have heard of strange serial nos on the very early versions of the Model 1,Maybee the first 200 to 500. As for what you paid I dont know,But it seems you got quite a bitand a good score. The 2 accurate model 5 series engines are very good to have. Please get a pic up of the cai806 engine if you can.

[Censored] your collection is going at a rapid rate. Soon the car won't be able to fit in the garage.

Looks like you got half a mower spare. Hmmm piston broke, (say that quick) I know how that feels. Been there a few times myself.
