That's where the front flap use to be.Unfortunately it has broken off a long time ago. Very very hard to find other one's, but hopefully one day I will find it.There was one of these that was on eBay a month or two ago (not as complete as my one) that sold for $1080.

Yes the model 4 automatics are that expensive. The rear flap which is the easiest to get can be worth $1200 on it's own.

A fully complete automatic in reasonable condition would easily be sold for $3600.Some fan mowers will even sell for that.

:(started on it today , not a happy camper but its ok , just more to do is all . i didnt know these 'ol things cracked ? but now its being pulled down it looks like it had a hard time once or twice ! packers under the handle bracket (old rolled up 'gal strips) nuts missing from engine mounts ! another question though ? was there anything inside the muffler plate too , no gasket just the plate ! [Censored] that looks bad.Did you have another crankcase? I would but they are all in storage about 1500kms from me packed in pallets awaiting me to pick-up.The nuts missing would explain, that they must have changed engines before tossing out for you to get. With the muffler there should be a muffler and baffle.Like this,

Don't mind the pulleys it's the only picture I have of one. Then under the base you have (Where the engine bolts on)another plate that covers up under the engine,on top of that there will be are fibre. The original fibre was asbestos.Sorry I don't have any pictures of the cover plate.

I wouldn't bother welding it those bases are so easy to come by.In-fact before I moved to took about 12 to scrap.

Hang it in the Corner? I believe the correct phrase is...."I have to finish my shed so I can fill it with more Vintage mowers....:) What? thats what I did...The Victa Gods Spoke to me one night...Thou shall buy lots and lots of Victas and house them in a HUUUGE shed. And thou shall worship them daily and twice on sundays,And thou shall bring them out when thy mates come over for a BBQ...And they will all gather around with mouths agape and go OOOOH AHHHHHHH...Thats what they said..HONESSSSTTTTTTTTT.....:)

Yes yes Stack them Very high, twice as high as a man....Oh Yes,And SHE will be fooled...Thinking them to be Garden Sculptures....See,Us mere males can get around anything....Besides there is always the street for the car...Unless of course she finds the CHAINSAW in which case the RED you will be using on your victa badge will be of the Bloody Variety...Mwaaahhahahhaha....

Good work man, sorry to see the wife isn't happy though. I must be lucky as my wife just shakes her head and says if that makes you happy. Just as long as I don't make a mess inside the house. I'm happy with that.
