My Victa Sports 4 Stroke lawn mower wouldn't shut down. I have to unplug the spark plug lead to bring it to a stand still. It was working all fine 2 weeks ago. The throttle lever seems to be working since when the throttle lever is moved to stop position it triggers a movement at the other end i.e. carb end. Not sure what could be wrong. any help is appreciated.

It has a tecumseh engine.

Hello, here are some images of the stop wire, it is insulated from the mowers frame or earth. If your engine isnt stopping when the throttle lever touches this wire, then you need to prove the wire is continuous back to the magneto, which will involve removing the cowl.

The second image shows the throttle lever touching the stop wire.
