Sorry Dave I'm not sure what your asking.Where is this metal height adjuster? They both look the same to me.Give me a hint as to where it is on the mower.

Well the metal one is the correct height adjuster for the Mark I & Mark II.That is the VC-160 Mark III was the first to have the plastic height adjuster 1972.Mark I & II were the metal ones. How many do you have with the plastic height adjusters? Was the 2 that were suppose to be the 125's have the metal or plastic height adjuster?

Here are my one in order. VC-160 Mark I 1970 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5048-8368-100_0653.jpg) VC-160 Mark II 1971 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5048-8369-100_0621.jpg) and last but by no means least VC-160 Mark IIIB 1972 ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5048-8370-100_0923.jpg) You can also use the engine number to identify the years. If you want post them up and I will show you how to work it out. It's actually quite simple.

Well if the 2 supposed 125's have the plastic height adjuster it could and is getting closer to the base I need.

Yes as bob said universal disc I've seen that on a lot of different mowers. This engine number 307104255 isn't a VC-160 or a 125 number.If-fact I'm not even sure what that is off.It may be a department store mower.Tomorrow I'll go out and take some measurement of the base and compare them and see if any are the same.I can't say I have seen a 3 on there before. My 125 has a 4 on it.So maybe that one is close to what I need. Will see after we measure them.

PHEW i hoe so one last pic' some of some green , look close ! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8411-mowers_208.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8412-mowers_209.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2012/10/full-5264-8413-mowers_210.jpg) thats the worst part of the base , iv'e seen worse and its not broken man i hope this is the one , looking close now huh

Yeah I think your right I do believe that is a VC-125 base. It's just the numbers throwing me.The 3 that is,I'm starting to think these numbers mean something have a VC-160 Mark II (1971 which I'm in the middle of restoring) it has the number 1 on it.The VC-125 I have here (The broken one) has a 4 and now that one has a 3.I wonder how I find out what they mean.I'm wondering if that is the last number of the year, hmmmmmmm? Oh but yes I do believe that would be the right base.A shame about the broken bit,but it would be an easier fix than the one I have here.
