Not sure if they all had the magister or not Darryl. Here is one here.

Although you can see the hole there it didn't have and the owner at the time said you can see that nothing was screwed into it.

Unfortunately this Scott Bonnar Model 35 fell into the wrong hands,(into a mower wreckers hands) I won't go into that more as it pi#s's me off.Nothing got sold off it and it went into a scrap bin.Not happy with that I could have hung the guy for that.
So a fine mower erased from history not good.

Definately a 35,judging by the starter it appears a model 1 just check the serial number, should be around 1 to 3,000? The series 1 did NOT come with the magister secondary it was added later,so no hole should be in the cowl.if its a later model any no from 3000 to 20,000 should clear up its accuracy.as for its worth, who knows, there aint many left and not collected often by non SB enthusiasts.50 to 80 id pay.As for Blumblys beastie,is a damn shame!I really need another throttle control frown Just because it aint worth much dont mean it aint RARE....:(

Hey Deejay smile
I was only going on what I can see of Nathans model. The different starter type, cant see if it has the magister or not, just looks like the first model.the magister actually sits high on the cowl so even from this shot youd see the top of it.Really the only way to tell accurately is by the serial no,as I stated in my post:)Ok so if you remember there are 4 models to the 35 series with the SB engine. The first model had no magister and a rough run of about 2500,3000.different starter type but thats about it from memory.the second and 3 series are virtually the same then there is the council/industrial model with a mirror reverse colour scheme. As for blumblys Id say it was a utility version, remember magister was a major selling point, albeit a failure.so maybee not all sereis 2 models had them fitted reserving this for the higher model. The head is also in a different position since it doesnt have to cater for the magister extras. The earlier series colour was different also, being only that the green of the cowl was darker and, unlike the later 35 which was almost bright metallic in appearance. So Im pretty sure blumblys is a series 2 utility owing to the fact of no magister and the earlier cowl shade.BUT only the S/N can really tell smile
I do have a brochure of a non magister 35 from i think around 57-59 ill post it when I can find it.and then youll be able to see the differences.Im pretty sure this is accurate since im going of memory, please feel free to correct if needed:)hope this helps. And thankyou for the Welcome Deejay, hope youve been well smile

Hi nathan_867 what ever happened about this Scott Bonnar 35? If you don't want I'd be happy to get it.

I saw Blumbly's post, it is very informative post which above seems
to shoot that theory down, his pics have the hole, with Magister...
What model is that?

Which model? Blumblys or the original post by Nathan? Depends how far you want to break it down John? Magister or not they are still both SB35 model 201s. The previous posts have all the info you require. Turn the image around on Nathans posting and youd get a more accurate idea,But Only the serial number will tell you for certain what sub series/year it is.
Nathans model Unknown SB 35 201 Possibly series 1....Blumblys SB 35 201 series 2 or 3.

Scott Bonnar's 155cc 2 stroke Model 201/202 had 3 different magnetos fitted.
Up to engine number 201-4001..............Wico magneto [Pic 1]
From 201-4002 to 201- 6193.................Wipac magneto [Pic 2]
From 6194 onwards................................Wipac Magister magneto [Pic 3]
From this it shows that over 6000 engines were produced before the Magister was introduced. Old S-B employees remember that they had trouble with the Magister. It does seem strange that some engines without a Magister have a hole drilled in the aluminium shroud. This information comes from a late 1960s Spare Parts List.

Grant.

Yes Very Concise. Im unclear why I wrote 0 to 3000 and omitted the second run for the first model as in an older post I quoted near identical number runs as yours, but memory fails me sometimes. My appologies for the slight inaccuracies,as sometimes I dont quote straight from my manuals relying on memory frown. So yes there are in effect 3 models and the numbers match Accuratley in series as youve stated. Now at least Another has confirmed 100% the accuracy of the information I hold. And also I was unaware of the second magneto style, only of the number sequence and assumed small cosmetic changes only, since i hold the first magneto style 201 and the magister only, I will look out now for the second series to complete my 35 201 collection. Thanks Grant as this was the last little piece of info I was hoping to confirm. Awesome!

See there's another reason why we love the site. It can prove our theory's to be right. Thanks Grant this means that the other 35 that is on its way to me is infact slightly different to the one I have now. This one does not have the hole in the cowl for the magister. Now I'm happier with it. Will stick some pictures of up soon.
