Done a little bit of hard rubbishing this weekend.Unfortunately not a lot was found however I did find a bitsa. What it appears to me to be is a VC-125 MKII with a 160cc on it.It has the correct base, front wheels and handles etc. However somebody decided that the 125cc wan't good enough.I guess the hard part is now trying to locate the right engine for this base,as if I do I will park it next to my VC-125 MKI.Here are some pictures. [Censored] wrong engine. If somebody has even just the bottom crankcase with the right number that would be great.I have a good 125cc engine I can use.

This is one of the big different's between the Mark I and Mark II.The way the handle locks on.

Only thing wrong with the base is that piece missing from the front.

I think it's just the badge as it's loose and I can see on the legs the marks from removing and putting the small plates back on.Also the engine is loose so I'm not sure it was bolted back on correctly.

And what looks like a broken blade.

Would have made it terrible to use.

No it's not broken Bob it's just stuck due to rust. The blades themselves don't look to bad.

OH bugger I have just had a look at the mower. Not happy the engine is not loose it is very tight. The problem is that where the engine bolts to the base all the holes in the base have cracks all the way around. So now I'm not happy as it is very hard to find these bases. So if I decide to restore this it may be that I will have to weld the base up.NNNOOO!!! Unless somebody out there has a base. Now I don't know what to do,it is bad. When I pull the engine off I will take some pictures and show you all.

Bummer

Keep an eye out for an old Briggs.
Or drill it out and put a power torque on it. Hide it under a VC engine cover.
A villiers or whatever.
Put that on the base. Do something different. Something custom.

Then keep an eye out for another base.
One will turn up, they always do.

Hi vccomm no a 160 base isn't the same. The biggest different's is on the back left hand wheel. The base for the 125 has a bigger base around the wheel. That's why the VC-125's had the 6 inch wheels on the back as the 8's rub on the base.As this one has done due to it having the bigger wheels on the back.Bob all I can say to that is NO!! I want a VC-125 Mark II.You funny bugger, did I mention no.

Yes I have already spoken to him about them. They both have 160cc engines on them, but they may well be the right base.He said that he only has one in the pictures but they are both the same. The one that is in the picture may actually be the same base.If you win and are not in any need of a base......well please please please??? You know what I mean.[Censored] a John laws saying.

Actually i dont think a briggs would fit lookin at the pics again.

Its a pretty small hole.

Go on, you may as well give it a go. The base it stuffed and not worth a cracker.
If you did it, you could sell it to TY. He loves the weird an unusual.

Yes well you have a point there. The base even though it's hard to find really isn't worth repairing. The only thing is I don't have a spare Briggs any-more I got rid of them to lighten my load for moving.

Oh well stick the base up on the roof of the shed. Patina will help. Any Victa sideways briggs you come across will have plenty.

Keep an eye out, build it and they will come.
