That paint job looks somewhat better than the original one, to me. More hammertone effect, very evenly applied. Nothing I paint ever looks like that. What is the small unpainted diamond at the handlebar end all about?

Hi Grumpy Thank you for feedback.
The bit that looks unpainted is just reflection of the dent from the fastening hole. Its all painted same.

Thanks again
Jason

looks excellent so far Jason- better than a bought one. Will you be hooking up the throttle cable to the carby at all? If so, would be interested to see a pic or 2 of the set up.
Cheers -

Iv'e goto say Its one of the most satisfying things I have ever done. (Dont Tell My wife)
But really. My mower is better than new and will give me many many years of mowing pleasure.
I know it inside and out and every single piece on it. Im wrapped.
Now I dont want to use it.

It's a work of art more than a restoration - it looks a lot better than a new Scottie, and it should run and mow better as well, with that GX120 and the increased number of blades. I feel your pain at the idea of actually mowing with it, and risking it getting scratched and dirty. I don't think I could bring myself to do that.
