The head well i cant say there is a easy way to clean them the fins are a bugger, but the combustion chamber is easy i use a Dremel to polish that..I start with a wire brush on a drill and degreaser, and use the wire brush on the hole head not to hard as to mark the head just get the thick oil and gunk off... Mini steel wool the little soap ones i use them with water they work good, and i find heavy duty green scourers work good in the fins and i use them dry no water.. hope that helps...there are two things on a mower i dont like cleaning they are the head and barrel i dont own a bead blaster or anything like that....Cheers

Well only if it's look after I guess.I got a VC-160 Mark II (same as your) when I started pulling it apart to restore it, I did find much of the original mower left to restore.I think the only parts that are going back on it is the base axles and crankcase. Not very well looked after.

I stuffed up the VC 160 sticker and i had to put something on there so i used a red bull can to make that.. I like it kind of goes with the rest of the mower. It was hard getting the look wright not being original in colour..It would have been alot more easy to do if i just went with the original colour....the next mower i do will be original in colour thats for sure haha...

You should change it to Chris 160.I think that would look better. After all it is now your creation.

Looks good and shiny. Probably a bit too good to mow grass with now. lol.
Not sure if its my eyes or the pictures, the ones you put up of the motor, looked awful dry in the cyl with the new piston in it. Pays to slop a good bit of two stroke oil in the crank case and all over the piston when you are putting the engine together.
