Hi All, this was originally posted by Joe Brown in reply to a post by Blumbly....It was off topic, so has been moved here. grin
Hi Blumbly, Would you be able to put up a pic, taken from the front, of the front of the catcher you have on your Victa Twin.
I need to see if I can find one amongst some I have and a pic would, I think, be a great help. I expect the catcher would be a bit wider than the usual run of catchers, but looking at the exit chute it appears that the flap is just standard size and the chute is sort of blanked of at the left hand side. Cheers

Hi All, went through the usual idiot things to send a pic to the Photos section this morning early. It did not show up so I thought perhaps the Moderator would have to see it first and then O.K it.
Just had another look and see it is still not showing. I will try and re-send a bit later on. Cheers Joe

Thank a heap Jeffrey for the pics with the measurements too. I was down the farm yesterday and looked at a red catcher which is in good order and looks from memory very much like these pics.

Now here is another poser. How many different colours did the Twin come in. The chassis I have just sold was a beige sort of colour. Maybe could say Gold perhaps.

The first one was Red or should I say more orange mixed with red.I'd say they were red but as they got older they changed to an orange. Not uncommon for paint to do that. Then the first Supreme was green and the last one (which was also known as a supreme) was gold.Don't tell me you sold a Gold one? It's the only one I don't have have (and I want one). The red one had a red catcher the green one had a green catcher and the gold one (No don't get excited) had a black catcher.

Hi Jeffrey and Joe B, you learn something new everyday, I have never seen a gold twin....and the black catcher makes sense....gold would really fade over time.
Hey Jeffrey....it might be time for you to take a road-trip down to Sale to have a look at Joe's stash so nothing else gets away from you, mate!! lol
Great photos as well mate, well done, and great for the archives!
cheers2

O.K Jeffery and everyone . So I am to be looking for a Black catcher for this Gol /Twin . . I asked a question a short time ago about what size wheels would have been fitted to the front of this item. I only found the 2 wheels in this pic and as they seemed a little unusual I figured they must belong to the Twin.. I sent the buyer a pair of 7 inch wheels to get him rolling until he can find the correct wheels. If any one has some spare please let me know.
I have not been to the farm for 3 days so will go today and now full of knowledge re Black catcher will have a sort out.. Thanks for all the info

Hi all I just had another good look at the Twin catcher pics. The magic Eye seems to be in a diffent position here .Looking from the back of the mower it will be a lot further back towrd the rear and on the left hand side. so is that unusaul postion for the Eye or not?

Hi Jeffry Thanks for puttng up these pictures. The magic eye is hard to pick up on the black catcher but I suppose its in the same place as on the red catcher?
I have been looking around the various forums here but cannot seem to find some of the posts I have sent in.. I have tried to send in some pics to the Photo Gallery but they have not appeared there as yet Cheers Joe Brown

Forgot to say to Jeffrey. I have sold the Gold colour Twin base. . I do not see where that pic is now in these forums and I never did get a reply at all from anyone as to the size etc of the front wheels for this model. . I look into MY Stuff and then into the Posts section but do not see some of the posts I have made in there ,. Also no replies from Mr Davis as yet regarding the cutter plates pics I sent in. Rather strange I think that I cannot track down the posts iI have sent in?????? Cheers Joe Brown Perhaps I am not doing something right

Hi all I went to the farm and had alook thru all of the catchers . I was looking for a black catcher with a Magic eyeand did not find one at all.
Now,on looking back again at the pics Jeffrey sent in of Twin Catchers I notive that the Green catcher shon does not have the magice eye
Question also as to whether the black catcher pic on here has amagic eye? It is hard to tell from the pic/
Just like to explain that all of the catchers down at the farm are on a maezznine type floor and I am able to move them around with a long pole with a hook on.
If there should be a black catcher ,without the magic eye, that fits theTwin model then I shal have to get them all down and compare the measurments at the mouth against those supplied here by Jeffrey

I'm not 100% sure if they all had that eye or not.As you have noticed that yes my green twin doesn't have it.Also I forgot to mention the black catcher on my orange or red twin,is not a twin catcher.Somebody had modified that to fit the twin.So the black catcher was and is the same shape and size and the red and green catchers.Of-course if you find anything that is off a gold twin then I would be happy to put my hand up for those items.Good luck Joe.

Thanks Jeffry for the quick reply. . Its back to the farm and pulldown all the catchers and measure them up...... The man who bought the gold chassis from me wants a catcher if I do have one so you will be out of luck there but who knows I may have 2 of them. I just got up the ladder and turned them over with a pole with a hook on looking for a mahic eye on the sama side and position as on your red one . I am going to see if I can send some pics thru.. I took some pics about 3 moths ago before putting them all to bed so will send those pics in, Cheers and thanks Joe Brown

Hi guys, i know the post is fairly old but i thought i might update you guys in your search for a catcher for the victa with the gold chassis (i am the owner of the above noted gold machine, and i don't mind anyone on the site using the photos at all!).

I have managed to find a catcher for my machine (albeit a beat up/repaired one) and i can confirm that you are looking for a BROWN coloured catcher (the same colour as the cowl).

I cant imagine there being too many brown coloured catchers around so hopefully that will narrow down the search for anyone who is looking!

PS: i might take a couple of photos of the mower with the catcher attached so that it can be added to theoutdoorking.com's library in a couple of weeks. (more of a reminder for me than anything) laugh
