I have this old Victa I bought about 12 years ago for $10 from an opshop. I thought it probably wouldn't work but it's been running like an absolute champion ever since. Problem is, it recently stopped working. No spark. I suspect it needs new points.

Could someone be so kind and identify this model for me. I've tried to find this model myself on the internet but haven't had any luck. Thanks.

I think that's a 1974-1978 V167 125cc Utility.

There is a serial number stamped on the crank case, any chance you can get that number up here, that will help.

Cheers

Yep, that's a V167. yours is a Late 77 model.

The Carby should be G4 (Though often replaced with LM by now)

Anything else you wanted to know about your Utility 125?

Thanks Mr Davis,

I just wanted to know the model to a) satisfy my curiosity and b) hopefully restore this beauty to her former glory. I hope to clean her up and put some new parts on her. Are all serviceable parts available for this motor?

I love this mower. Except for the fuel nozzle getting blocked occasionally, which is a simple fix, she has been exceptionally reliable, starts 1st or 2nd pull, and mows through just about anything I aim her at.

You should be able to find most parts for this mower without any hassles, If you have any troubles with any parts, Jump on and let us know, somone should be able to help you.

If you like, I can see if I can track you down a chute flap for the side, I have on here, which works, but is a little cracked, or I can see if I can find you one in better condition if you would like?

Cheers

I'd be looking where the engine cutout plug is, where the two wires go into the carb. Quite often I experienced the small chamber being wet with fuel or water, which will short out the spark. I can't remember the last time I encountered stuffed points or condensor!

Cheers.

Easy way to test that is to just pull out the cross pin wire and check for spark.

You can also make up a chute easly out of an offcut of 5" C perlin.

Id load up a pic but its not working.

Hi Mr Davis,

Sorry to take so long to get back to a reply. Yeah that chute flap doesn't look pretty but it will do you the job. I could definitely use that old chute and possibly make a new one at some point later on.

Thanks.

Place up the road has a machine that rolls the flat into the C perlin.
I just got an off cut, i think it was 5 inch.
Got some stainless hinges from a stall at the laverton market.

I think i made up 3 or 4 of them out of a bit about 2 foot long. I cheated, i cut them out with the plasma cutter. You could use a grinder.

Also in the picture is the height thingy with the holes in it. They split and flap around and wont hold the head of the handle bolt to do it up. I welded it too a handle mount plate for a steel base victa.

Nice job Rodeobob.

Thanks for the info and pics, will have to give that a go myself at some point.

Also, I tested the engine today and there is spark, so I guess there must be some problem with the carby.

Thanks deejay for the welcome.
I have been reading on the forum and I think the motor is a 160cc it has the coil on the side of the flywheel but the wires that go to the carby I'm not 100% on if anyone has a diagram.
That would be great.
Thanks.

Hi there, please start a new thread in Victa 2 stroke engines and I will guide you though what might or might not be going on.
