Haven't had the mower for that long, all is in very good nick, changed oil, filters, blades generally gave it a good clean up.

Runs very well and easy to start, however i may do a few laps of the yard and it will splutter and miss once every so often nothing major. Then will get worse until it stops, seems to starve.

Now its not only when it gets hot, what i found was a fair few floatys in the fuel tank, washed it out as much as i could, have pulled the fuel bowl off a number of times under the carb and there is floaties in it.
Took the carb off along with everything else today and cleaned throughly, still seems to be doing it.

Where else could some dirt be stuck in it?
or any other suggestions.

regards Grant

I don't know what type of carburetion this engine has; but if it has fuel hoses they may deteriorating and allowing "floaties" to circulate.

With the fuel tank of, pour some fresh fuel in, quarter full or thereabouts, shake it all around then pour it out the filler. this should get most crap out of the tank, and clean the little filter that sits at the start of the fuel line.

does sound like fuel-starvation. when the fuel runs out in the carby, the motor will start backfiring for a few seconds then slowly die.

Sam.
