Hi Brendon, welcome to Outdoorking. I hope you will show us what you are doing on your restorations as you go along, in the Restoring and Customising superforum, Victa Walk-Behind Rotary Mowers forum. Remember to include pictures, our members are very visually oriented when it comes to mowers.

Hi Brendon, and a warm welcome to the forum. grin
I have just about completed a restore on a Victa Model 5 Special (as a coffee table), they are fun to work on and lots of members here to give you good advice when needed.
Looking forward to your posts and pics. wink

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. I did happen to check out your coffee table photos Deejay, looks great. I picked up a couple of old Victa 18's a few days ago, and i cant seem to figure out what models they are? i looked at a picture with model details but i couldnt figure out mine was (as the picture was black and white drawings), a push in the right direction and where abouts to post to ask would be appreciated?

here is a pic of the two mowers:

Hi Young Resto,
At a quick glance they are both model 5 Victa Specials. The one on the left is a Model 5 Series 3 in basic form. The one on the right is a Model 5 series 2 or the most common Victa also in basic/standard form.Engine nos will confirm if they are original or not.Engine nos for the (right) series 2 should be...think think...We will just say from around 250,000 upwards.the series 3 (left)could be damn well anything...A,AA,AAA,AC AC,ACE,with the number prefix following:)The left one is slightly rarer,You see less of these restored,My opinon only. And is slightly more complete:)Good little starter projects and parts are still available.Have fun!!!

Hi Brendon, I have moved this topic to the correct (Introductions ) area, to keep the thread on topic.
Blue has correctly identified your models...so now to answer the second part of your question, if you intend to restore, please post in the Restoring and Customising forum....for repairs, please post in the Repairs and Maintenance Forum:
1. Engine questions; Victa 2 Stroke engines
2. Frame/Chassis questions: Victa lawnmower frames.
Looking forward to your questions, Brendon. wink
cheers2
As this thread is complete, I will now close it...If any member has anything to add, please PM a Moderator.
