Hi all,

Been a lot of effort but well worth it in the end. Just have to re-attach build plate, cable-tie throttle and clutch cables, and apply decals.
Happy to report that the Honda GX100 is awesome and the mower works and cuts perfectly.
Got to do it all over again now, doing a 14" model for soon-to-be father in-law.
Thanks to all who helped me with this through their patient answering of my dumb questions. Grumpy, DeeJay, et all>
Oh, chain case is not on in pics, didn't forget that!

It looks great Davo, not original, but stylish and meticulously prepared. If cuts as well as it looks, you'll have the nicest lawn in your street, and enjoy cutting it as well. On top of that, you've done no harm: you could put it back to collectible form any time you wanted to.

Thanks Grumpy,

I've still got the original B&S motor, ready to go back on if need be.

Thanks again for all your help with this project.

Wow!

Once you've done your Father In Law's, can you do one for me?

Looks Awesome. Great Job. If I had a mower that looked that good, I'd be too scared to use it.

Happy mowing!

cheers

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Was my first effort but definitely won't be the last.

Wazzbat, I know what you mean. I rolled it out of the garage on towels over the concrete the first time, scared to scratch the rollers!
I built this to be used, just gotta accept that battle damage is gonna happen.

Hi Dave, that's a given...if the machine is going to be your main mower...it will inevitably get scratched and dirty.

That's one of the reasons when I did the cosmetic resto on my 45, I did not paint the front or rear rollers...In fact Scott Bonnar did not paint the rear rollers....however Rover did when they started manufacture of the Rover 45.

My rear roller has never suffered a rust problem...as it gets used regularly I guess. wink
