Anyone know where I can get my hands on a new or very good second-hand Chain Case/Guard for the model 45?
Mine's a bit dinged up(hammered out as best I can), and not quite true, ie: not sitting totally flush with the frame and allowing lots of grass and other stuff into the chains area.
Need one with the later vertical, not horizontal, screw holes.

Cheers Andy. Already tried TMS, spoke to Keith, they've got no stock and are unable to get them new anymore.
Any other ideas? Or anyone know how to get the case trued so there's no gaps between it and the frame?

Sorry don't know of any other sources for new chain guards.

As for the case it depends on how dingged up it is, if you just used a hammer to beat it out you have probally streched the metal.

I don't quite know how the vert screw hole cover looks like but if it has a lipped flange I would try a bit of 2x4 and cut a slot out to suit the flange and then use that to shape/flatten the flange.

If the gap isn't too large and you arn't really worried about looks maybe a bit of rubber weatherstrip from clark rubber will seal the gaps enough to keep the grass out.

Thanks again Andy. Only small dents, pretty sure I didn't stretch the metal.
It was warped and untrue before I started, will try your trick with the 2x4.
Great idea on the rubber seal.
