HI I'm having a bit of trouble with my Victa powertorque (model BB081A5 1985-86) After stuggling to get it started i finally got it going but now i can't shut it off at the throttle (i have to turn the fuel line off) I have taken the carburettor apart and given everything a clean and replaced the primer cap, O ring and kill switch cover and plug. I suspect i haven't installed the kill switch properly. does anyone have a diagram of correct instalation of the killswitch mechanism? or what my problem may be??
Cheers Adrian

If it is now revving harder that it was it is something you have done.
I would suggest that the diaphragm is not seated correctly. Can be fixed with the carb in place on the motor.
Unless you have removed the starter and that crank seal is no good now it has been disturbed.
Or if you have been wiggling and jiggling too much and the inlet manifold has cracked or come apart. I have seen that, the manifold is two bits of plastic stuck together and they can come apart.

Start by checking for air leaks, as bob suggested, the common one is a misplaced diaphragm, but the intake seals should also be checked.
If that does not seem to be the issue, there is a small washer that can be inserted to compensate wear that causes the governing system to sit too low.
How is your idling?
Cheers Ty

2 wires run to the carby from the coil act as the kill switch when you pull the cable back some times they just dont work with the g4 g5 carbies so in the end just short them to the body of the motor to at as a kill switch

Howdy, provided all the seals and things have been replaced correctly, I suggest replacing the cutout plug. I've come across this problem before, and the way I fixed it was by fitting a long cutout plug in place of the short one.
In an emergency, I find it easier and quicker to pull the lead off the spark plug.
