My gas trimmer won't start. Sputters and dies with in a second. I know the carb is out of adjustment. What are the initial settings and which screw is the H and L. As there are no obvious markings. One is towards the intake and one is towards the airfilter. Thanks!

The settings are:
H one turn out from bottoming
L one and one quarter turn from bottom

Replace your fuel filter in the tank as well and make sure that fuel is getting to the carby first before you continue to tune the carby.
Once the machine starts then move the throttle quickly and if it does not hesitate then adjust The H screw till it peeks out then back off one eighth of a turn.

Regards,
Bruce

In addition to Bruce's info, check your fuel lines...Squeeze them to be sure the 'rubber' has not gotten 'gummy'...does not spring back to shape... If the Carb adjustments do not get it running, you may need to replace the Diaphragms. A kit is easy to install. Just find which mfgr & model of the carb.
