I have a Victa Mark IV self propelled high arch mower but no spark. I was going to replace the ignition with a spare module I have. I searched for instructions but couldn't find them. i know they're here somewhere. Anyway, the part I'm confused with is whether I should insulate the red wire from the mower body. The engine I took it off did not seem to have this. I was going to cut the wire to the condenser and throw it away; then connect the black (kill) wire to the spade connector on the module. The red wire goes to the screw connector at the other end of the module but does it need insulating? photo attached. If anyone has the link to the instructions please let me know. Grateful for help. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/11/full-1794-4122-imgp1028con.jpg)

I am pretty sure (correct me here if needed) the red wire should go to the module and pop rivet the module to the engine, somewhere otu of the road perhaps on the underside of the ignition plate. ( a bolt will come undone over time.)

Thanks Joe; The mower I got the module off was screwed underneath the housing but a rivet would be better. So there's no need to insulate - just black wire one end and red wire the other?

Then connect the red wire to where you have the condenser wire as that is the active wire which creates the spark. Note be carefull that the active wire goes under the mounting plate (before it goes out the body)because it can rub on the flywheel causing a short.
