Hi all, i have a white ride on that has started to leave a strip of grass in the centre of the cut, iv'e sharpened the blades which are not worn on the ends at all, they appear to overlap and cover the cut ok. might be a silly question but do the blades have to be timed in any way, its just like for an instance thers a blade in the wrong place and missing grass, specially in longer stuff, thanks micka

I take it you have either 2 or 4 blades fitted - whichever it is designed for. Have you tried reducing the forward speed of the mower at the same engine speed (i.e.,. using a lower gear)? If that fixes it, you could look at fitting more blades as a way to make a higher forward speed feasible. However if that doesn't make any difference, you have a cutting geometry problem - perhaps pushing grass down instead of lifting it up for example, due to fitting the blades incorrectly or having unsuitable blades.

Front edge of the blade has to be flat, IE: parallel all the way along the blade and the corner a corner.

If you sharpen it to a curve it will not be as effective.

I would be suggesting new blades.
