Ty, it looks as if there must be a cam inside the crankcase to operate that contact breaker via a plunger, something like the pre-1982 Briggs arrangement. I don't know if I like the tiny laminated steel wheel being used to generate electricity for the magneto - it would have a low surface velocity when trying to start the beast, and that might mean a weaker spark just when you don't want a weak spark. However I don't see any signs of fuel having found its way into the electrical enclosure, and that is a good thing.

Yep, I'll get a picture of the plunger run tonight!
I was thinking the same thing when i pulled the flywheel off Grumpy, it seems an odd way to do it, Perhaps the larger 'contact' area of the coil centre is to compensate?
Bob, that certainly does seem the same, only difference i can spot, is the different shaped rover badge. I notice mine has a plate under the engine that adapts it to take the Villiers, if you removed that, a briggs would fit in fine, perhaps they ran simultaneous 2 and 4 stroke versions?

Lol, you seem to have the parts I'm missing, and I the parts for you!
I need a few parts from the red engine I have, but not the ignition, nor most of the engine itself.
How about I pop it into the lot for you, so you can get this one going!
Cheers Ty
