That is a very interesting lot you have there!

What are your plans for these, I may be able to help you with a few parts to restore some of these with.

Will you be restoring any?

Cheers
Ty

Gooday All
lol That set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Thanks for the hint there drjbeam - I thought that Lawnkeeper top looked a bit off. These mowers belonged to the deceased bloke who donated the early mowers, (see one of my earlier posts), to our local museum. And some of the Victas that I restore from this lot will add to that collection.

@ Mr Davis - I hope to restore many of those I have already picked up - and will look at the ones still there later. Might ask about any spare parts later on. Note: You have a disc posting your way today with the Rotoscythe book on it - plus lots of other stuff for the forum library if needed.

Blumbly has first dibs at a base and that spare engine, if it is in fact spare. I only left those behind Blumbly coz we couldnt fit any more on the little Mitzi ute.

More later - sleep needed.

Here is a parting pic of the next load.

If they are wanting to get rid of stuff, I will take the other gold victa twin base and any other twin stuff that is not gone yet. I see a black twin cowl as well.

Well, Just let me know as you go along, Even if i dont have stuff here, It's always usefull to have others looking.

I will have a dig tonight, as I may have a few things for that old victa self-propelled (the 60's one)

I may also have a good cowl for that auto drive.

Cheers

Here is a bit of a clearer idea as to what I may be able to help you with for the above mowes:

-Cowl, Tank, Starter, Muffler, Axels, Wheels and a referished carby, for the 1960's Self Propelled.

-A good grey cowl, and tank for the auto drive, and possibly a belt & Catcher.

-A cowl, replacement starter, tank, catcher, and carby for the vict amustang (Victa of fome sort, photo 6)

-An full engine, as well as axles, wheels, and maybe a catcher, for your mayfair deluxe base.

Looks like that trip to SA may well need to put on the cards at some point!!!

Cheers

No 6, victa of some sort.

Looks to me like a series 80 mustang.
A very very sad one.

The bigbob looks pretty sad. Id say it will be knackered having had no air cleaner on it.
Im in need of a deck, i have one here with holes rusted in it.

The superswift starfire looks funny with the victa Zip starter on it.

That Mayfair base looks like a good cantidate for a resto. Usually those low arch bases have holes busted in them.
I have a few catchers here for the low arch models, if you are in need sing out.

You snooze you loose on all the good stuff like twin and auto drive parts. lol

Thats pretty much where my mind is at with No.6 Bob, I have the parts now aside to take across when i get the chance, If stationary wants to restore it, however, looking at the picture again, I'm concerned by the front of the base!

I might have a spare base i can throw on the pile to, then just pop the engine into what i have here, and all should be complete... Then it's just about getting it funning, and looking nice!

The catcher for that low arch might be just about the only thing i dont have here for it, so if you are restoring that one Stationary, you may want that. If you make arrangemtns with Bub to get it, I'm sure I can help out, as I should be going to Vic, before i get across to SA.

Id say that number 6 isnt worth the effort. Could easily find another better one.

Would be good for parts. Or to actually make a working mower from. Those series 80 motors are the best thing you can put on a Utility.

Well, I have all the parts aside that are needed to fix it up, as ling as the engine itself is good. (I have base, cowl, wheels, ignition, carby, blade disc, starter, and even handles if needed)

I'm not sure about the utulity claim there bob, personally i feel the Series 80 is just a series 70 with a crap starter. the electronic ignition of the MKII seris 80 is a plus, but the rest of them really is just a series 70 MKIV.

Bu then agian, I guess it all comes down to opinion!

I hear you on the starter, the plastic ones anyway.
Ive an alloy one or two here ive kept for myeslf.

I should clarify if i say series 80 i mean the mkII with the electronic ignition. And if its a mkI a power torque module will fix it.

You can pop ignition modules onto S70 engines too, however, when doing this, I prefer (if they still make them) the blue Mighty Atom chip, Just seems to woek better.

Yeah, Your right with the starters, those alloy ones are a hell of alot better, Ive got one on the shelf waiting for the right mower to come along!

The series 80 is not a bad engine, I just get irritated with the damn starters, the electronic ignitoin is an advantage though, as is the external coil, much easier to access.

Still, I'm a series 70 fan, mainly becase i really do enjoy the G3 carby, it may not be as quick and simple to service as the G4/LM carbies, but I just like it!

Cheers
