So last night i began cleaning this one down, and i will be getting started on the overhaul this weekend.

Its a 1975 Rover Super Four 21 Self Propelled, Given to me by Redeye, The Engine is a Briggs 100902, I beleive thats about 164cc, the Drive uses a Rover Swing-Frame system, driving the wheels with a dog dropped onto the top of the wheel.

She has some compression left, and a reasonable spark, but is quite tired and heavy, and needs a good going over.

More to come!

Bummer I sent one that had a perfect base but no motor to scrap not longback, otherwise I would have had a set of those drive gears for you.

Ah well, its not a worry, once i get the motor going, i have a feeling these will hold out a little longer, they still seem to want to drive the wheels now (only at cord-pull engine speeds) so maybe i will be lucky and they will make do till i find something else!

Some low hydrogen rods and a bit of a grind and it should be all good.

I think i may also look at cleaning up the weld at the back of the swing frame, then giving it all a good paint job!

That is a good point, it really does have that 'hard worker' look, hmm...

I'll get her going and see where i want to take it from there.

Heres baby brother
It had the white plastic wheels on it. Not sure whats its meant to have originally. The wheels were as sloppy as, the collars were worn away to nothing and the centre of the wheels worn as well. I put these wheels on it, i would assume they are the right ones.

Picked up a catcher in hard rubbish that looks like it might work on it. Looks to be home made. As soon as i get a chance i will give it a try and take some pics.

Those wheels match what i have on mine (and a few others i have seen)

The catcher is pretty simple, you just tilt it and slip it over the hook.

Got this one from the scrap yard yesterday. Bit newer than the ones above.

Its a bit sad, 13 ci 5HP IC motor. Feels a bit light on comp, could be a busted rod. No belt on the drive and the rod is missing.
Had the catcher here, hard rubbish find.
Will probably put a 4Hp on it and mod the catcher to fit.

If you want the SP drive and the cover TY its yours.
