If people are looking to make their own stickers there is a way to do this now. There is available a clear plastic paper (vinyl) material in A4 size that can be used in inkjet printers to make stickers, decals and labels. It can then be cut to the size needed and it has a sticky backing. I can't comment on how durable the stickers are as I haven't used it myself but I have just bought some of the "paper" on Ebay. I think Office works has it too but I could not guarantee that it is the same stuff. Make your own decals This might be the product at office works: Transparent stickers The vinyl sheet has probably been around for awhile. However, I know others have asked about making their own stickers and I have only just found out about it and wanted to spread the word. You can do your own artwork in a graphics, photo or word processing program and then print them off.

sparker, the advertised product you have quoted from ebay is the version for ink-jet printers and it is not waterproof or even water-resistant, they say a wet cloth will wipe the ink off. The same seller has a laser printer version that they say is waterproof.

Doh! Thanks Grumpy, I'll try and contact the seller for the waterproof version. I thought I was announcing a new product but you obviously know about it already.

No, I've never heard of it before Sparker, I just have a habit of suspicion, so I read the ad in detail. The seller has explained its weaknesses quite clearly, s/he just hasn't made that information very prominent. I'd say that is what sellers usually do (except for the ones who don't tell you about the problems at all, of course). If I were selling it, I'd say "For non-washable indoor use - see other product for outdoor or washable use." However I'm conservative - long ago I had the job of editing/checking a series of owner manuals, and I put in so many warnings against obscure risks that the Marketing department rebelled.

Hi sparker, I believe that Steve (deviosi) makes his own decals and stickers...We are hoping he reads this thread and may give some advice.

Greetings, Thanks for the notice re sticker material for Laser printers. I muck around restoring cream separators amongst many other things (mowers incl) and am always looking for ideas like this. Stationary
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Blumbly, The supplier has told me that they (inkjet stickers)can be coated or covered with another bit of sticker material or some clear tape. I have placed my test order and I'll report back here as to how they go. I did a google on "Make your own stickers" and quite a few products came up (including a number of instructables - a great site).
