Found this on e-bay and thought I would post it up.As I'm very keen on it as I believe it is one of the models I searching for.Would like some expertise to make sure it will suit my needs. [Linked Image]

Also I guess if I do get it I would need to find a catcher so if somebody can help with that, that would be great.

So as we were talking about before (before I was rudely interrupted by my step son visiting me)do you think it has the right cowl on it?

Seems like it may actually, i was thrown off a bit a first, but i do believe this era came in green/white, and the 'VC' logo looks like it could be the outcome of faded green, Plus i think it may have seen a paint job at some point (Look at the rear flap) which makes it seem out of place when it isn't.

I would say it seems to be, and with the right coat of paint on the base it will look right again!

$25 as scrap. Well thats what an ally base costs me at the scrap yard.
Probably only give you 10-15 for it.

The other mower would fetch $150+ well it would if you can get the paint looking reasonable, running good, serviced and a catcher for it. They are easy to find for the steel base.
But i wouldnt give more than $20 for it.

Those prices seem fair, as i said, the Techumseh has the wheels that should be on the mustange (by memory) but dont go out of your way for the techumseh if you dont want it (I would personally get it, but that me) becase those wheels are not to hard to find if they are what you need.

If you want it get it, heck, if you decide you don't want it, take the wheels, you could use the rest with me as a bargaining chip on our comming trip!

I just don't know whether I should ring the guy or just let the auction go through and win it.

Until the auction has ended, its not a good idea to try and buy them outside of Ebay, if he reports it to Ebay, you will get booted off.

Also, it would be tricky for him to remove an auction without good cause, and ebay dont like "I sold it elsewhere"

I would sugest, if you are comfortable with the price, bid, and see how you go, otherwise, hope that it goes un-sold, then call, but the second method means you may miss out.

Yeah there is a couple of ways, which I have done before.Like when I got the Model 4 Automatic.I rang him up offered him a price and did it as a buy it now.Or you can remove an item and just say item is no longer available.I will ring him as see if I win it if, it can be dropped at a place near him (at my uncles place) that way it wouldn't be a major emergency trip up to get it.As when I go to Sydney I like to make it worth my while and go up for more than just one or two mowers.Last time I went up I came back with the car completely full of mowers.Couldn't get an other one in if you tried.I had to pull some apart to get them all in.

Tinys ya mean at the tip? I went out there a few weeks ago and it was pretty depressing...lots of air filter cowls ripped out, carbies pilfered for parts and bits everywhere! No real complete machines all parts I reckon. I think there was later model mustang with the white cowl but it was banged up. Is there anywhere on the northside worth investigating?

Not to my knowledge, Tiny;s is my preference, if you keep a good watch you can beat the vaultures (i got 3 full ones the other day) and many of them just need the float bits for the carby put in to be complete.

There was revolve, but they dont always have mowers, and they have closed for now.

at mitchell tip there is a shop, thiess, theu have there mowers checked over, and they are all complete, and most will run (24 hour warranty) but there $80 a pop, and I'm buying for parts and repaire, i want cheap mowers to fix or pillage, not $80 machines that just need a wash!

Due to the vultures, tiny's machines need a little more work, but i have scored a ffew relly nice machines therem a MKI VC-160, an auto drive, and a good side thrower, i got a rover pedigree from 73 the other day!

I think i may have grabbed the white top mustang you speak of, cowl banged, wrong engine bits, but another engine for parts, and a solid base!

It realy depends what you want, but there the place i like, there is also revolve better bits in golburn, last time i was there they has an 18 special (over $100 though)

Well I can tell you guts that in Mitchell is all just crap. Was there last week. There is 5 inside(supposedly working),but as Ty said $80 each.Out the back absolute garbage.I think for memory there is 4 mowers there not complete. There is a Green Mustang(which would be the pick of the bunch)(It is complete),but you would need another mustang and you could make one from the 2.Other than that,it's really not worth your time.Cheap thought only 10 bucks for a mower. In fact that's where I got my Corsair and one of my VC's. The Mark II. Speaking of which if you have a catcher for the Corsair Ty I will need it.

I'll get out in the shed today and have a look for that catcher mate.

I didn't realise they still kept any mowers out back at Mitchell, i don't go there very often any more, hardly seems worth it since the new mob moved it, sure its all been done up inside with a new counter and shelves, but really, they are charging 4 - 5 times as much for the same stuff that was there before!

They do keep some there, but as I said they are fairly shitful most aren't even complete.Only the green mustang.I don't know I should get it it would only be $10 but something keeps stopping me from getting it. I should just bite the bullet and get it. I mean engine still turn over,it would properly be worth it for 10
