Received a Honda GX35 on the weekend, i beleive it came off an atom edger. Does anyone know what might have a suitable drum for this clutch and mount well to this engine, i would particuarly like to get it onto a straight shaft brushcutter, but the only straight shaft i have is off a Ryony with a much smaller clutch. Any ideas what to do with it, seems a good little engine to me! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/06/full-5013-1391-gx35.jpg) (This is a googled pic, i didnt have a photo on me, definatly the same model and series though)
Cheers Ty

Hi mate,
WOW...how much did you pay for it? They are a ballsy engine.
You can easily get a Kaaz or Mori shaft for this.
I have a Mori on a GX25 and it is awesome - I rate it equal with a Kaaz, so go with whichever is cheaper.
These guys should be able to hook you up with one:

I had serious hassles getting it to start/run which is why it came off the atom Ty - make sure its running properly before spending money, it could be a waste of time & money - good luck with it!

What sort of condition is it in? Has it done much work? These are a very reliable little engine, so there shouldn't be too much wrong with it. Ben.

I will be giving it a full run down, cleaning out the carby in detail, and replacing any worn components, as well as gaskets and filter, then i will see where i am at, and if it is worth putting onto anything.
Cheers Ty

I steer clear of honda engines these days, nowhere near the quality of old, this engine was replaced with a zenoah komatsu - a proper commercial quality donk

At least the cars are still good (I hope so any way) i think i will still give it a go, i have a few to do this winter, but i'm sure i will have the time.
Few things are what they used to be, but keeping an eye on the trends of the professionals is usually a good idea, I particularly like Komatsu too!
Cheers Ty

My father in law is part of a grounds keeping service that looks after a bunch of the millionaires up the Sunshine Coast. All of their mowers and brushcutters are Honda - cylinders are Honda powered. All blowers are Stihl and all hedge trimmers are Shindaiwa. Thats the set they have worked down to after trying most of the other commercial stuff out there. Ben.

Bob, i certainly know where you are comming from, 2-strokes will always be my passion, and the Victa Series 70 MKII will always be on my 'Daily Drive' and the spine of my collection.
At this point, I'm just enjoying trying new things, as this is a hoppy, rather than an income, i have the ability to fiddle around at my own pace, somtehing i could not do when it was my income.
Anytime you look in my shed, there will always be a victa ready for work! others are just me experementing on different things so i can have a wider knowledge of engines.
Cheers Ty

Whoops wrong thread. Get back on topic.
Yeah i never wanted to fix 4 strokes. But they are not so bad. Dont know why i steered clear of them all my life. Id fix a bike or car but aviold a 4 stroke mower like the plague.
I figure if its got an engine and its not totally stuffed i can fix it. Some things get set aside for a while mind you.

Digging up a old thread here but I have some good news, I have one of these in the workshop at the moment, once given the go ahead for the parts and labour cost I will make a video on the rebuild of the carb on one of these and replacement of fuel lines.
