Dear Bruce
Thank you for the Villiers mark 7F manual.
I need your help re the following
1. The armature plate is broken but I cant get the rotor off the crankshaft. Is there a special tool I can buy for this as ordinary pullers can not fit into the confined area.
2. I dont seem to get any spark when I spin the engine? I have checked the coil on a Tester and it is OK. I have used a number of spark plugs and still no spark. I have also clean the points and tightened the connections and still no spark? Any thing else you can suggest.?
3. Finally Re the Victa special parts
The wire rope rewind starter do you know any one who has the rubber handles and aluminium sleaves? I also need the cowl mounting plate on which the electricals sit. Can you help me?
Regards Paul Rovali

Paul,
In answer to your questions:

1. I have had the similiar problem with trying to get it off and the only thing that I can suggest is to spay it with WD40 and let it soak over night as well you could try hitting it with a brass dolly.

2. The points could be pitted or dirty (try to clean them up). If they are Ok then I would be replacing the condensor.

3. I am still waiting for a reply regarding the rubber handle (it is a real hard one to get) and the 'E' plate I should be able to get depending on which one it is (is the coil a brown colour or black?).

Sorry for the delay but locating some of the old parts can be hard.

Regards,

Hi Paul and Bruce If I remember the rotors on the 7f had an internal thread in the top into which you screwed a puller ? Joe

Hi Paul amd Bruce Just had alook at the subject mattar and on re-reading I see that what I refered to as the coil plate may be misconstued.
I am refering to the alloy plate whch mounts on to the cranckcase with 3 threaded holes at the outer edge to which the engine cowl is fastened to with whitworth thread screws Regards Joe

Dear Bruce , Thanks for your reply.
1. The points on the 7F were faulty I replaced them and am know getting Spark. Should knew points be given a Light sanding with wet & dry?
2. The Cowl mounting plate has the old light tan coil although the black coil could be fitted to the plate if needed. Could you please give me Joe Browns telephone number so I could contact him to see if he has the cowl mounting plate it does have 3 screw holes to which the cowl is screwed.
3. I am working on the Mark 3 Midget Villiers engine and need a muffler Or silencer Do you have one?
4. Thanks for you effort with the handle.
Regards Paul Rovali.

Hi Paul
sorry I had nor read bulletin board re time to phone but since I have spoken to you all is now OK
With regard to the puller for 7f Rotor Bruce I pulled a 7f to bits to check it and there is indeed a thread and a Stihl O* or O08s chainsaw flywheel puller wil fit
The thrtead is only about 5mm deep and the Stihl puller gets a little tight as it is not quite the right pitc thread but is does not tight untill it would just about be at the bottom of the thread in the rotor Regarsd to all Joe
