hi! all This is my first scotty i rebuilt i sprayed it with pressure packs at the time. Because all the hard work was done it wasnt so bad rebuilding it a second time. spraying it with a gun is less work the original paint was white knight alpine green hammertone and now its a custon green made as close as possible to the original scott bonnar hammertone green from protec hammertone paint, the honda engine starts very easy this cylinder mower is the one i use regularly the 10 blade cutter will give about 330 cuts a metre regards steve.[Linked Image]

It looks exceptional Steve, like all your projects. How is it so clean, when you use it so often?

I can understand you having the Honda engine on a mower you use so often, and I suppose it would be a very simple job to put an original engine back on it if you ever wanted to show the mower, but it is still a bit disconcerting to see such a marvellous restoration with the "wrong" engine on it.

Hi Steve, now your talkin' mate, a Scotty with a GX Honda!! I am considering a 10 blade reel for mine as well. As always a brilliant job...Looks better than new. grin
I have often said on this forum, there are different ways of restoring machines; full resto to original specs, cosmetic resto without dismantling, conservation of original machine to prevent deterioration, and a non-original but functional machine, Steve's machine falls into the last category, with the Honda engine and the 10 blade cylinder reel....not original but very functional...It will give a terrific finish, reliable engine, less vibration and hours of mowing pleasure. This Scotty is no show pony, it works for a living.

congrats Steve, and well done mate. wink
cheers2

I am certainly interested in acquiring a 10 blade reel for mine. I would be interested to know what the costings are like.
