Hi all,
Can anybody explain to me what the different engine packs of the Victas' are,
i.e. V35, V40, V50 and so on. From what I can see they are all Powertorque 160's with LM carbies, what makes them different and why?
Are these full crank engines as I haven't stripped one of these down yet.
The plate nut on these are the 14mm metric which I'm led to believe to not be a full crank.
All help and info. appreciated.
Cheers,

Lawn Slave,

All Victa Power Torque engines are half crank and as to the V35 etc they only change the jet size everything else is the same. cheers2

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
Was led to believe that the early powertorque 160 engines that took a 1/2" BSF plate nut were full cranks, and the ones that took the 14mm metric were not...
Have not had the need to strip one down...yet.
The "jet" that you refer to I gather is the carby main jet.
I have only seen two available for replacements, one for the 125 and one for the 160. Have not seen any around for different engine packs.
Please clarify if I have misunderstood anything.
Again thanks,
LS

Lawn slave, if the motor takes a 1/2" BSF nut its not a Power Torque, it is a full crank.
I think its 1 1/8th nut. 25mm nut on the Power Torque.

The Power torque engines are metric.
8mm bolts hold the motor to the base and the head, coil and pull starter on.
Full crank motors are efffin whitworth.

They are easy to tell apart.
Power torques have the pull starter as a cover on top of the crancase with 3 bolts holding it down. Full cranks have a flywheel on top (its on the bottom on a Power Torque)
Power torques bolt up to the same pattern as a Briggs and stratton motor which is like a 6 inch hole. Full cranks have 4 studs that would easy fit inside a 4 inch circle.
3 screws hold the cover/tank down on a power torque, full cranks have 4 (or 3 and a hook).

I thought the V35 and V40 etc was the ignition. Then the V50 was a better inlet tract. The same as you LS, i had only ever seen the one jet for the 160cc plastic carb.

I would like to get my hands on a couple of V50 jets.

Bob.
