hello,

ive stripped the nylon drum gear on my beloved 590. the small drive gear is worn too.

Am i in luck and still able to source them? i dont really want to get another mower as its fantastic other than this.

Hi gav, yes mate, they are available, but as these parts are no longer manufactured by Rover-Scott Bonnar, they are after-market, and somewhat expensive.
The nylon drum gear is now machined from metal, (which it should have been in the first place) and the pinion the same as the original.
I am sure Bruce will source them for you and put them up in the online store.

i found one on TMS website for 132 dollars! cant believe it. probably better than buying another which will evenually have the same problem, can you guys do a better price?

does anyone know whether the gears on the 590 are imperial or metric? i assume imperial, cause i'll make up the little gear myself, its handy being a fitter/machinist for stuff like this.
