Hi All

Firstly thanks for the help with the Suzuki engine Bruce I have now got it up and running mint.

I have a Flymo GL47 with a Tecumseh 2 stroke engine on it. It is an older model Flymo with the brown coloured engine with a vertical pull start.
The mower starts great - First pull everytime, however after several minutes of running the engines revs slow down and the engine cuts out. It restarts after about 10 pulls and then runs with no power before stalling again. It does this several times and then once restarted again (for the 6 - 7 time) the mower runs fine again.
Any ideas as to what could cause this? Maybe fuel or bad spark?

Any help would be appreciated.

cheers2

Poor spark could well be a cause, the ignition coil could be nreaking down when the engine gets hot.

Thanks for the reply Joe. Is there any way of easily checking if it is the ignition coil? I have another engine that looks the same but is stuffed, however that has a ignition coil on it that I could use as a replacement.

Best bet would be, as soon as the motor stops check the colour ofthe spark to the spark when the motor is cold.

Thanks Joe will try that and see what happens.
Do you think that it could be a fuel issue?

Hi Joe

I switched the ignition modules over on the engines and the Flymo seems to run great now, I will have to try and cut the grass with it this weekend. Thanks for your help.

Hi All

Just an update, took the mower round to a mates place and mowed the lawns, mower ran great and didn't stop at all. In fact it ran for over an hour without any issues.

cheers2
