Hi Bruce

I took the Suzuki engine apart again today and discovered that the governor assembly had completely shattered into peaces that were scattered throughout the engine block. Luckily no other damage was done. The control collar to the governor assembly seems fine. Is it possible to purchase the governor assembly for these engines still confused

Also what would cause the governor assembly to shatter inside the engine??
Look forward to hearing back form you soon.

cheers2

VC Victa,

The parts that you will require are:
19210-90610 Bracket Arm
19211-90100 Arm Centrifical
18221-90601 Spacer Governor

All up they would cost between $25-30 approx.

If you can I am about to order some parts later tonight. cheers2

Sorry for the late reply Bruce.
Do you know what could have caused this to happen?
I thought I had assembled it correctly.
Any help would be appreciated.

cheers2

It could be incorrect installation or badly worn, without seeing it it is hard to say.

Did you want the new parts as I have to make an order very soon. cheers2

Hi Bruce

I don't need the parts right now as I am going to rebuild the carby and other bits first seeing as I had to take it apart again. Do you have a drawing showing correct installation of the governor in regards to the governor sleeve that goes into the engine? I think that this may have been wrongly installed by myself.
Would this cause damage?
When I first went to start the engine the engine would not turn over, so I gave it one big pull on the rope and the motor began to turn over (Started with busted governor on the next pull)

Hi Bruce

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
I have taken the engine completely apart again and reassembled the engine with a governor system taken off another Suzuki engine that I obtained from scrap (engine had a mint governor).
I reassembled the engine and put it back on the body with a spacer to achieve the right cutting depth.
As I completely dismantled and serviced all the engine parts this mower now runs great. It does not miss a beat and has loads of power. It cuts almost everything without issues and gives a great finish.
These engines seems to be of a very good design.

cheers2
