Hi guys

I was using my uncles mower on the weekend when it decided to stop. Couldn't start it again for the life of me.

I then noticed that the primer bulb seems to have a hole in the end of it. I figured that must be the problem.

Having got the parts list for the engine
http://www.briggsandstratton.com/ma...nualdetails.aspx?showpdf=ms6193_B_LO.pdf

And found the product code for the part, 694395. I then looked it up in the store and the description is
"Briggs & Stratton Primer Bulb & Retainer
(with breather hole)"

Does that mean the hole in the end of it is meant to be there?

Thanks
Nathan

As Bruce said, the primer button on that one is supposed to have a little hole in it.

Maybe it would be worth starting off with soem simple troubleshooting, checking for spark, etc.

it was all running ok and then stopped all of a sudden. I thought I saw petrol around the primer but will let my uncle know the hole is meant to be there.

thanks again

Nathan,

What happens with that set up is they tend to get dirt in the primer and you then have problems. cheers2

Nathan,

Try putting some sponge behind the primer to stop the dirt getting in through the hole. cheers2
