Hey guys, nice forum,
I pickup up a working Scott Bonnar Lawn King 17in Mower a couple of years ago for 150 bucks and am starting to do a full restoration. Its basically a Model 45 with a different Handle, will post picks later.

Any info on how to go about the restoration would be great, as it cuts the lawn really great.

Also are there any parts sites that i can buy stuff from other then http://www.turfmachinery.com.au/ as the site is down, anyone know how long its been down or has it just disappeared.

Also as to sharpening the blades, what i do is to get some wet and dry sand paper or emery cloth and stick it to the bottom plate, then use a 3/4 inch socket to turn the blade backwards for a few hours adjusting every now and then. Is this a good way to do it, as the blades are really dull, they still cut newspaper but i want them razor sharp.

Also im looking for the repair manual for the engine and the lawn mower its self, are these available in the forums, is there some way to get a look at these to see if they are the right books, like a front cover and a few pages???

Hi tezza98_tnharris and :welcome: aboard to our forum. You will find a lot of information here to help with your restoration and also the online store has a lot of parts there as well. If you can not find what you are looking for just post on the forum.

In the parts list and manuals area of the forum you will find a lot of information including workshop manuals to help with repairing.

I am sure that Deejay will reply to your post as well because he loves Scott Bonnar's and has a lot of information as well. cheers2
