Hi Bruce and all just put a ryboi hornet MK III back together. And it leaks fuel out of the back of the carb. things done 1. new fuel fillter n lines 2. new neddle 3. full carb kit n filter 4. new gaset behind the carb b4 anyone asks the qustions the gasets are the right way u can see the neddle opening n closing.
You need one of these to check the carby correctly which is located HERE on the online store.
Have you checked the workshop manual in the spare parts and manuals area for Walbro & Zama carby repair as it will not be easy to try to explain how to fix your problem.
It appears that the needle might not be sealing properly and if so you will need a tooth pick and some valve grinding paste in order to clean the set.
Once you have cleaned the seat you will need to pressure test it with the above tester to see if you have any leaks.

Bruce

I have used Steel Wool in the past for cleaning the needle slot with a tooth pick and twisting and turning until it is nice and clean. It has always worked for me. Never tried another thing else. Maybe not the right thing to do but HEY it has not let me down as of yet.
Yes Bruce, it is great to see members coming up with different ways of doing things and helping other members with their problems, as we all like to learn new things here. Well done, Melvin!

Hi newbie here. I have recently fixed up 2 ryobi Lawn Hornets mkIII. They go really well now but tend to leak fuel from the back of the carby when sitting. Do they need carby kits? If so are they easy to install? Where can you get the kits? Thanks Anthony.
Yes it sounds like you need a rebuild kit which includes the needle HERE is one of the kits, providing it is a walbro carby. If it is a Zama carby then you will find information on it HERE.
You will find more information in the parts list and manuals area on how to replace the diaphragms as well.

Bruce
