Ok, I have been a bit slack in posting this one up.

Got this Model 1 in July this year (I think) and had to give it some work, but it was worth it. I had to source a few bits, new piston, rings, bearings and seals, coil, 'E' core, and fuel tank.

Hi MVC, what a brilliant restoration mate, and my sincere congrats to you...Just like a bought one!! lol
Mate, in order to help some of our members contemplating doing a similiar resto, could you tell us where you sourced your new wheels and/or rubbers from, also the 'boomerang' badge etc?.
Did you sand blast and powdercoat the frame and parts?
cheers2

No probs Deejay.

I sourced some wheels and tires off a good mate I know on another forum. I used two of his wheels two of the wheels that were on the mower and 4 tires from my mate. They are not new, they would be 50 + years old. The original wheels and tires are still useable as well. I was lucky as these you can not buy new anywhere.

The badge I got off ebay for $58 and is an original early one off an model 1 or similar. I painted it myself. I was lucky to get this for only $58! I was watching some for a while.

No sand blasting for all the steel parts, (I did get my model 2 base sand blasted, I will post pics soon) I used electrolysis, all though this takes a while it costs almost nothing and easy to do at home, you will need a wire brush on a bench grinder or something similar though.

Paint is three coats of etch primer, and three coats of top coat, (deep brunswick green) all out of a presure pack.

What a great job, I will reiterate the comments passed on by the other members. You should be proud of your final work. Something we all need to strive to.

Well Done
