hi every one another classic for the collection. it doesn't run yet but turns over. finally got the rear flap too. i noticed the engine plate is "lauson " only,is this before or after the merge with Kirby?
If the engine is branded Lauson, not Kirby/Lauson, it is most likely an American-made engine. Kirby was an Australian (Sydney) manufacturer who got a licence to manufacture Lauson engines from Lauson's owner (Tecumseh). You can get most of this from the identification plate on the engine. Yours should say that it was made in USA. The Kirby/Lauson ones say it was made by James N. Kirby under licence from Lauson.
