Hi. Just wondering if anyone might be able to help with locating a Victa Lightweight workshop manual. I think its the same as the Victa twin and 85cc manual? If an electronic copy is available anywhere that would help also. I'm also looking for some parts for the lightweight if anyone has any - green catcher, decompressor, etc. in good nick. Thanks!

Nick, The Victa lightweight or the Victa Twin to my knowledge did not have a workshop manual. If they have a parts manual I will try to it track down. The Victa Twin and the Lightweight were both produced between 77-80.

Guilty as charged! I was suprised there were no other bids. It does need a few bits though I believe. I haven't collected it yet but I know the muffler is loud, needs front axle bushes, starter rope handle, no catcher, no cowl sticker, no decompressor. I'll sort the complete list once I pick it up. Shame the twin from the same seller was so popular. It sold for $223 or there abouts from memory. A bit rich for me at the moment!

Hi Bruce, As best I can make out from my searches Scientific Publications Workshop Manual No. 161 was for the Victa Twin 170cc and the 85cc engines. I thought I had read someone in this forum post once that they had this manual - maybe Joe C ? Thanks for trying to track down the parts manual also!

I have that manual, I can take high resolution digital images of the pages you need if you like, it may take a little while though.
Cheers.

Cheers. Hi Joe, Thanks for the offer. I'll see how I go once I pick up the mower and what I might need. Out of interest is the manual for the engines only? Cheers.

I was suprised how many interstate libraries popped up with different types of workshop manuals when I was searching online. Might be useful to someone local to them maybe. PS Just downloaded the parts list. Thanks again Bruce its just what I needed to start with!!!

i have the manual as well Thanks for that. I'll see how I go. Mower seems to start and run well except for the blown out muffler. Got another one coming that's meant to be an easy fix. Cheers.

Here is one I pickup today. I got a spare base with it, but will repair the front of this one I think. It starts second pull, so thats good. I will give it a clean up and the base a paint. ![[Linked Image from i256.photobucket.com]](http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh187/newy1234/Mower/DSC08519.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i256.photobucket.com]](http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh187/newy1234/Mower/DSC08516.jpg)

Hi sawain1, and on getting yourself a lightweight! Are you going to restore it? Can you also post some pics, as we all love to see 'em!! Hi Deejay, I want to clean it up and see how it looks in original trim first. Found some new cleaner that I want to try to get the cowl "sparkling" that's meant to be safe on plastics. I'll post comments if it turns out to be successful! Seems to run well apart from a blown out muffler. I've bought some used spares including a muffler that's meant to be an easy repairer, a spare motor in good nick, spare cowl/sarter and other bits to get it back into shape. Unfortunately came across another Lightweight that seems to have all the stickers intact, runs well and I just couldn't help myself. I got a nasty feeling the transport from interstate is gonna hurt though! The biggest problem is I don't have a catcher for either. That's gonna be a difficult one to remedy! I'll post pictures once I work out how to!

Had my eye on that on Ebay. Too far to transport at reasonable cost to Melbourne I figured - Mower, catcher plus spare base. Should come up really well once the base is changed over!
