G'day i'm new to this forum and was looking for some guidance as to whether purchase this from a mate or not. For one i can't even find any information on this mower through google. So i fear how old it is. Apparently all it needs is a new battery and the fuel tank has a crack so that'll need to be fixed too. Other then that its in working order.

He wants $250 for it.

I really would appreciate some input smile

Victa don't make ride-ons anymore do they? so if something was to fall apart, i might be left with a pile of crap in my garage smile

I would jump on that pretty damn quickly, just the motor off that if running healthy would fetch $350+ on eBay if the rest of it turned out to be no good.

some spare parts are still available for my very very old 70's ride on so I wouldnt say that it would be impossible to get them for something newwer.

We have the parts list in the parts list and manuals area of the forum and most parts are still available. All you need to do is get the part numbers and request a quote from the online store. cheers2

cool thanks!, however i can't find what i need! depending on whether the Victa 4012H uses the same fuel tank as the 4012T which i assume it does. i need a new/used one due to a crack on the bottom and a few at the top.

4012H fuel tank code = NR-314989

cheers smile

ps. what years/differences are there between 4012t and 4012h

G'day Bruce, do you have any fuel tanks you can get your hands on that will fit my 4012T? Plus do you think you can upload the user manual and parts list to the site smile cheers

Dont hold me on this, I have been told all the difference between H and T are the type of transmission, something I remember from wayback.

Rumble we have the parts list uploaded for the 4012H model and the 4012GTX. I would suggest that you have a look in the parts list area to see which tank looks the same as yours because the 4012H tank is different to the 4012GTX tank.

It could take a while to locate the specific parts list for that model you are quoting. cheers2

ah yes your right! the 4012GXT looks nothing like the 4012H... but mine looks precisely like the 4012H! I've tried to track it down in SA to no avail so far frown

here's what mine looks like
[Linked Image from i34.photobucket.com]

cracks up the top aren't the major concern its the crack at the bottom which leaks fuel that's a problem smile

the part number again is NR-314989 any help tracking one of these down would be awesome smile

cheers

The part number for the tank is 314989 which is the one shown below. The problem is that the part number is no longer available here in Australia but maybe you will be able to buy one in the USA and get it shipped here.

Ahh what! that's no good at all. Do you know of any Mower wreckers that deal with ride-on mowers? There's gotta be some hoarders out there smile

Surely overseas is the last possible alternative, and who knows if they ever got them imported from Australia being Australian made.

They were made for Victa in the USA by Murray. That is your best chance and I am sure that even after postage it would be cheaper than buying it here. cheers2
