Hi All,

I'm having issues with my Dad's Rover Raider.
I can get drive in 5/6/7 gears,but no drive in lower gears.
In 5th I can tow a car.

I do have a spare mower here (MTD),which I think is the same mower.
Before I go changing parts over,is there anything I need to check.

Generally,the mower starts,runs & stops OK.
No grinding noises or obvious trauma.

It could be selector keys but need the model number to have a look at the gearbox breakdown. The model number shoule be under the seat.

I think Dad has owned it for a decade or so....

You either have a belt problem or the CVT pulley system is binding up. If change the belts use only MTD belts. Standard "B" belts don't work as they have the wrong profile.
