Hi there, I am hoping someone can help me. I have an old Iron Horse motor mower (d400 series I believe), that belonged to my father and which has not been repaired for any years and only recently have we got it out and looked at it. We have been told by a repair shop that the ignition coil is damaged and we need to get a new one. Given it has been in the family since the 1970s I am keen tottery and revive it but we have been unable to get hold of an ignition coil. The motor mower did run for a while before no longer starting. Is this one of the 2 stroke Iron Horse motors, if so is there any chance it has been straight fueled, that kills them after a short run

The coils are available on eBay.com, they are for LawnBoy mowers in the USA.

Possibly a coil from a Tecumseh may fit but I haven't checked ,a coil would be worth more than a complete mower,
I've heard a few people say they tried selling an old Masport with a D400 and can't get $10. so the mowers are thrown out..

They don't come up often these mowers for sale here but usually I see them for $10 to $20. I think they are easier to find in NZ.
