One of my fleet is a Masport 635 with Quantum 35 B & S # 376527

Put this away about 5 years ago in a dry shed, was running perfectly. Dragged it out a couple of weeks ago and couldn't get it started, absolute nuisance trying because it has the vertical pull rope thing, anyway finally discovered it had no spark. Found a similar ignition coil thingie on a defunct Toro, put it on and the mower ran sweetly. Today went to start it and once again, no spark. Grrrrrr.

Otherwise it is a great mower with a large catcher which is very easy to empty and replace.

I have had very few ignition problems with my mowers and thinking it is time I learnt about electronic ignition modules. Do recall seeing some discussions on ODK about these but searching on my ancient mobile phone hasn't been fruitful.

Can somebody tell me what can I buy at an auto parts store to cobble onto a 4 stroke mower, maybe a sort of a universal fit anything job- make, model, part number please.

I have all the engineering tools and know-how but am an absoute dummy with electronicals.

Module won't fix no spark, that is the job of the coil, module only tells the coil when to fire that spark at the right time. You need another coil by the sound of it. You can't use the coil off the smaller Briggs because the bolt centres are different
