The reason I ask is I have an old Victa Pro 550 Push mower and I have been doing a mini Resto on it and I noticed the casting has less fins than what is supposedly made here
I have found no issues with the Chinese Victa 2 stroke motors, they were obviously built to Victa specs under strict Victa controls. I have not noticed any cooling problems with the wider spaced fins Not sure when Victa went to the Chinese motor, I'm only guessing that maybe early/ mid nineties. That is probably when they started using Chinese bodies and the rust problems got worse
There's a code number on the air cleaner cover cap ,some have a year code , a 2 digit number (eg. 94) that is stamped into the block under the inlet manifold, the alloy head on it's side has a number (eg 327) 1983 27th week = 04.07.1983
I'd have to see an image of those numbers so I know where they came from (25 G 00 and somewhere else it writes A3) Jeffery, as they may just be part numbers.
I've only seen the Victa codes up to 1991 so the AC052 AA90 on the air cleaner cap doesn't look original ,someone has replaced it as it's from a Commando , should be something like AK060 UK90 .
I took the manifold off and took a photo of the numbers that are stamped. Your right about the air cleaner cap. I also looked into the numbers on it and got the commando as well
