I have a Deutscher Y560 here that I changed the gearbox oil on and it has now developed a slow drip coming from the selector shaft. Anybody had any experience with these, I assume I will have to split the cases and replace an "O" ring on the shaft. Any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure there's an oil additive for cars that stops leaks by softening and reconditioning hardened seals. I'm of the belief that you should avoid pulling apart anything unless necessary.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi Norm, have you thought of contacting Terry Scanlon? He was a great help when I was restoring my R 280 ride on.

Yes Al,
I have spoken to Terry about it and he said he had not come across the problem, which I thought was a bit odd but that was what he said.

Hi Norm,

Yes it has an O Ring ,it's a little difficult to see in the parts list I have but the cover 60 looks like it removes to get access to the shaft .

Cheers
Max.

Thanks Max, that is exactly what I needed, just have to find the time to get to pull it apart, got myself in a real pickle here at the moment, don't know why I keep doing it to myself
Thanks again
