I have started the rebuild of a Bon Mow 19. I purchased this mower from the son on the original owner (who was going to restore it) minus the engine and the catcher. The frame is in good condition and the clutch appears to work and the reel is also in good condition.

I dismantled a BM 19 a couple of years ago as it was rusted out and restored the Villiers engine to working condition, so I have a range of mechanical parts to use if need be.

BM 01631 - What year would it have been manufactured?

SENIOR TECHNICIAN & HISTORIAN
Hi Malcolm,

I haven't heard of anyone that can decipher the ID plate as the records were thrown out a long time ago.

The 19 Bon Mow looks like it's a fifties model, some info. here https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/65009/model-19-history-record-c1953.html

If you had the original engine you could get the year of manufacture from the stamping on the flywheel.

Cheers
Max..

Thank you Max.

Looking for others who have this BonMow machine, to make contact.

I have a long term plan to have a Scott Bonner Gathering in Redcliffe Queensland.

An open gathering of machines and owners to share and care about this piece of Australian History.

A thought for the future.

Malcolm.
