Can I post walk behind wheelbarrow here? How to inflate tyre? Does not fit servo air, wheelbarrow valve is 8mm O.D.,car is 9mm. Is that to prevent over inflating? Been there, done that.

Has there been a powered wheel barrow before?
I think one with servo assistance would be of use.

Sorry, by servo I meant service station/garage. Just trying to be cool, probably does not work.

I used to call them a wheel barrel. I thought I misheard it as barrow.

To that original query, I do know my home tyre pump has a multi size end that should work on a slightly smaller valve. It has a tooth that grabs the end of the stem as you fit it over. Mine has the tooth missing but will still work while you hold it on.

Hi itforsenior and Mf,

One idea is to try another servo as the clip on pump end may be worn ,the valve is usually approximately 8mm ,I
measured one here and it was 7.5 mm.

You can just grab a rag and put it around the valve before putting the pump end on the valve, if it's still too loose fold
the rag over twice then put the rag over the valve ,it just depends how thick the rag you are using is .

Probably not a bad idea is to buy a bike pump with a screw on end instead of the clip on type , they can be bought at Amazon
or Kogan.

Cheers
Max.

Usually you can sort of hold the inflator end onto the valve enough to get a bit of air into the tube because you don't need a lot of air in it maybe 10lb is usually enough

Thanks to all but that is not the end of it, please read on. Tyre flat, repaired puncture, inflated with ropey gauge at garage, burst tube. Bought tube at local Hardware, installed, inflated, did not hold. Water test tube, after persevering found pin hole link. Returned to Hardware and managed to wangle a replacement . Installed, inflated, did did not hold. Water test, found leak. What conclusions can I draw? I do believe that this tube, relative to its diameter, is stiffer than a car tyre and needs a bit of scrunching to install. But also I need to be more gentle or it is beyond my handyman skills?

Pity you are so far away, I would fit it for you if you were this side of town

Obviously you are somehow pinching the tube

Or it could a thorn or other object causing the tube damage. I just repair a tire where tube developed a pin hole. Found a thorn just barely sticking the inner liner.

Yes, another possibility, guess job needs to be done in a reasonably clean environment. I handed over to my son-in-law. He bought a bigger tube, not necessarily by intent, and completed the install.
