Hi Everyone, I had some work to do on the blade disc and thought I'd change the bearings at the same time. Of course I put things in order but now have confused myself about which way the washer with the bulge (shown in photo attached) in it goes. Does the side with the bulge go against the bearing or does the side with the lip go against the bearing? By the way, the bearings for the disc spindle housing for this machine are 6204DU.

Hi Bravo,
I have no idea but the main thing with a bearing is to make sure the center of the bearing is the part locked solid and the outer ring is free to turn

Thanks Norm, that makes sense. The diagrams on the parts list just don't show enough to be any good reference for little details like this. The diagrams I was looking at don't even mention the bearings inside the spindle housing, it's just listed as a single part, that's why I added the bearing numbers in my last post. Might help somebody if they need to replace bearings and can't read the numbers on them.

Hi bravo,
The outer shell of the bearing needs to be a snug fit inside the spindle housing, to the point of heating the housing to allow the bearing to fit in snug so as it cools down it holds the outer tight. Then it is just a case of making sure that when the spindle is tightened up there is a washer ontop of the inner shell to lock that solid to the spindle shaft
