Hi all. Picked up a Qualcast Admiral recently. It’s a great runner, however the throttle cable frayed and has now broken. Would anyone be able to provide any insight as to where I could source one or if there is a non OEM cable I could source? Pics attached. The throttle lever end is just like the old handbrakes on pushbikes but the other looks fairly unique. Any help greatly appreciated. Located in Adelaide if it helps.

Hi shacl and Norm,

The throttle control end if making one you would need to braze or silver solder a small lump on one end
of a Bowden cable then file or grind the end down to fit into the throttle control ,the other end you can
use a small bolt and drill a hole for the cable to go through then tighten the nut.

Sometimes I would just grab a car boot release cable at a wreckers and shorten the cable to fit.

If you don't have the tools to braze an end on the cable then a cable from something else must be used
and the end ground down to fit the control. You can buy a new Victa 18 cable but will be about $30.

I think a Pit Bike throttle cable may be too short but you could search online for a longer cable.

Cheers
Max.

It may be cheaper to change the complete throttle cable and control if originality doesn't matter.
