Another issue on my power torque. It start perfectly first go however the revs go from normal to slow to normal to slow continuously they don't sit at a constant. This can also be seen from removing the catcher and seeing the door open/ close as the revs fluctuate. don't know what this is the fuel filter is new so it can't be that. can't figure this one out?

Hi Dmitri,

You need to clean the governor vacuum nozzle. Could be blocked with dirts. See attached photos.

that makes sense as it could be partially blocked up to a certain point and as the air pressure decreases it does it on and on.

I put the air nozzle in it and the hose popped off. I had to pull the whole motor off and remove the nozzle. the engine works better now. thank you.

what do you mean you made it at a hospital. wouldn't you say the vacuum would create this issue?

Hi Dmitr,

Well done problem solved! I knew it's not an easy fix as we need to pull the motor off to access the nozzle. Just to share to share to everyone why it's the vacuum nozzle would be the problem.

How this vacuum nozzle works?
First when the flywheel spins and blows air past the nozzle, it will create a venturi effect which caused vacuum which restrict the movement of vibration of the diaphragm. The higher the RPM, the higher the vacuum and the more movement restriction on the diaphragm which tends to slow down the engine. This close loop feedback or we called it governor will maintain the speed of the engine regardless of the load.

I will demonstrate this effect in one of my YouTube video for others to have a clear understanding.

Cheers,
CM

Hi Speedy,

Haha off topic - Re: Workbench

Anyway nice solid timber and well made to work on lawnmower repair. Timbers that solid are expensive to buy from Bunnings. Nice one!

Anyway let's not spoil this thread. This is a good reference for others and helpful solutions.

Cheers,

im used to working on the older g3 systems. the flag would put more tension on the flap in the carburettor making it harder to stay open at higher revs. the earlier g2's never had it.
